stuck database upgrade
September 03, 2014, 12:00:23 pm
Joomla 2.5.24 , CiviCRM 4.1.5 , we need to upgrade it to 4.2 LTS

Upgrade first generates an error, running /administrator/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/upgrade/cleanup425&reset=1 fixes the issue and prompts to upgrade. The upgrade process goes all the way to 4.2.18 database patch and then gets stuck here:
[Executed: Populate financial type values for price records] (see attached).

I tried increasing RAM allocations for PHP and MySQL to no avail.

Please, advice

There are some valid configurations in 4.1 that don't upgrade cleanly, I think it's when you have contribution forms that don't provide any default values. You might find others who have had this experience on the forum as well. In any case, it's probably not related to RAM, etc.
