[FIXED] Extras.css not taking effect
September 03, 2014, 12:39:49 pm
I have placed my extras.css file in the civicrm/css directory and it is not being loaded. Is this process different with 4.5?

For obvious reasons it's not very nice to have to keep your custom files inside the civicrm directory. So no we don't support the old extras.css anymore.
Instead you can specify any css file you want by going to Admin->System Settings->Resource URLs.

That makes sense. I moved the extras.css and specified it directly under the resource URL (https://mysite/CustomCSS/extras.css. I was just able to get it work. I also realized that I have been editing css based on the "theme" and not the civicrm.css.

I just checked the CSS and it appears that my page isn't using the civicrm.css file. What would be preventing that? Is there a certain theme that I need to be using? I'm assuming that for consistency I should be using elements from civicrm.css to modify my style?

Check your page source and look for civicrm.css as well as your custom file.
If they're there, click on them to make sure the url is correct.

Ahh, figured it out. I was able to find the civicrm.css.

Thanks for your help!
