Only Import With Matching External ID

I am trying to insert 20K donation records and they all have an external ID field from the CRM that we are migrating from. This matches the external ID that we imported the contacts for however the contacts that we imported some needed to be changed so I want to only import if there is a match between the external ID numbers.  This would in theory give me a report of non-matches and then we can do what we need to with those non-matches.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Have you tried with a small amount to see what happens? IIRC you can't import contributions unless they are matched to a contact, so if you try and import one where the external ID is missing it should complain.  Again, IIRC, if you procees with the import, the importer should import those that it can and spit out a CSV of those that it can't.

I accidentally selected the wrong match and so it was matching all of the items.  Sorry for this question.
