CiviCRM custom fields in Drupal views wrapped in unwanted p tag
September 17, 2014, 10:11:58 am
Another issue we've been encountering in addition to the values/labels one I posted about in a separate topic a while back (and updated just now) is that when CiviCRM custom fields are used in a view, they appear wrapped in a p tag, which is often problematic. You don't always want custom data to appear in a paragraph of its own - sometimes you want to display it inline with data from other fields.

It's possible to work around this with CSS, of course, but it's a nuisance to have to do that every time. It would be better if it didn't add any unnecessary markup within the field. You can control what tags you want fields wrapped in in the view settings, for the most part, but this p tag appears inside whatever tags are specified there, and is unaffected by the view settings.

Would it be all right to submit this to the bug tracker? Or is there some solution to it (other than kludgy CSS workarounds) that I just haven't found yet?

there have been related tickets - if you don't think it is better to reopen one of these then yes i would encourage you to add a new one with Labels = Views (and Component = Drupal Modules integration)

There hasn't been a consistent approach to labelling which is a shame but we can collectively improve ;-)

Would be great if you can dig in and provide a patch
