Pass values into a contribution form
September 17, 2014, 12:51:57 pm
I am working for an organization that does child sponsorship's. Eventually we will have a Drupal view that will list all of the children and then when you click on a child you will get more info on that child with a "sponsor now" button. I was thinking of creating a contribution page for this form, but I will need to be able to pass the child's name to the form from my website. Is this possible at all with Civi?

What CMS are you using? If it is Drupal I would recommend using the Webform CiviCRM integration module.

I am using Drupal, but I thought you could not do contribution forms via a webform, has that changed recently?

I am not sure, check the Webform CiviCRM module? Quite possible that contributions are not part of it, I am only aware that Grants are not :-) I will check in a minute...
Would a custom field added to the contribution not help?

Just checked, there is a Contribution tab in my Webform CiviCRM? It links with the contribution page? Have a go  ;)

I have posed this question for Joomla, assuming I would need to create a contribution page (or PCP) for each child. I need to place a link on the individual child's profile or directory listing that caries that info into a contribution.
