Blank Page No Errors, Running MySQL Upgrade Script from 4.4.4 to 4.5
September 18, 2014, 05:58:49 pm
I am attempting to upgrade CiviCRM from 4.4.4 to 4.5.
I accidentally put the civicrm.settings.php file in /wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm
and then ran the upgrade script and got an insufficient permissions error
Realizing my mistake I moved the file up a directory so that it was in /wp-content/plugins/civicrm
and then ran the upgrade script again, this time it just loads a blank white page
Update: I removed the 4.5 files, reuploaded the 4.4.4 files and everything was working fine. I then removed the 4.4.4 files and reuploaded the 4.5 files and tried again, once again, blank white page.
Ideas?
Thanks,
Dave

So, what I ended up doing was:
1. Removing the 4.5 files again.
2. Adding back in the 4.4 files.
3. Checking that it was working.
4. Remove the 4.4 files.
5. Remove the 4.4 cache files.
6. Add in the 4.5 files.
7. copy in the civicrm.settings.php file.
This time it worked...ohh, and before all this I also rebooted the server just for good measure.

Well, I spoke too soon. It said it completed everything successfully, but when I open CiviCRM I get a message about CURL not being installed and there don't appear to be any menus, just an option to refresh the dashboard. :-/

Okay, so I upgraded my Ubuntu distribution to the latest, did a reboot, and then ran this script: http://<your_wordpress_home>wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/menu/rebuild&reset=1
Now everything seems okay. Whew.
