Problems with Installation Package on Main Site
September 20, 2014, 11:49:35 am
I tried to download the Drupal 7 package from civicrm.org and the package downloaded was a .gz file instead of .tar.gz and Drupal is unable to install it.  The Drupal 6 package appears to be the same.  The packages off of SourceForge appear to be fine, they are both .tar.gz files, it is only the ones that can be downloaded from the https://civicrm.org/download

Unfortunately I don't have a non-Windows box to check from, someone else will need to check.  I did just check it on Firefox and IE (didn't think to test it sooner) and it worked fine, it seems to be happening only in Chrome.   I have never had a problem before with this in Chrome with previous versions, it's just weird.

Mine also downloads as a .gz file. I usually just upload the file to my server, which I connect to with a graphical SSH (WinSCP). I have a command in there to extract the file. It works without problem.

If I am on a server where that isn't an option, I just extract the files on my computer and then upload them.
