Custom CSS in Joomla
September 21, 2014, 04:21:09 am
I have for many hours trying to figure out how to handle CSS in CiviCRM.
I have set the Custom CSS URL to be any folder in my template folder: (http://xxxxxx.dk/templates/rt_corvus/custom)
Here I have placed the file custom.css and made some css content.
It does not work. There must be something I'm missing, but what?

I also think that the topic of custom css being treated too little in CiviCRM and it is annoying. Other good components is much more accurate in telling users how custom css to be treated.

Very often in Joomla if I need to override CiviCRM classes I just do it in the CSS files that are used by the template.  But usually that is just 1 or 2 classes so it isn't a big deal.

I believe that you need to point the Custom CSS URL to the exact directory that the css file is in, not just a top level directory where the CSS files could be in any sub directory.  Have you tried putting your custom.css file in the custom directory itself instead of in one of the subdirectories?

I'm not sure what you mean. Du you mean the custom directory inside the civicrm folder or in the template folder? Because the civicrm css folder already contain the origin cividrm.css file. So whre should I put my new override civicrm.css file?

Sorry to step in..Make sure that your custom css url includes the file name, whatever it may be. I put mine in a civi folder and named it civi_custom.css. The overides also seemed to work in my template custom css file but I found it easier to separate the two.
