WordPress 4.x and CiviCRM [SOLVED]
September 23, 2014, 08:46:32 pm
Hello,

It seems the current version of CiviCRM is only for WordPress 3.x.

Does this mean it will not work with WordPress 4.x? Does anyone here have CiviCRM installed alongside WordPress 4.x, and if so, is it fully functional?

Thanks.

Hello Pamela

We're using CiviCRM 4.5 (Core functions (contact, custom fields+ CiviEvent)) on  WP 4.0 and everything is OK so far.

You should set up a test environment, duplicate your current installation on it, upgrade WP to 4.0 (maybe also Civi 4.5) and test the different parts you're using to see if it's ok, then deploy in production.

 ;)

I concur with SemperFi: CiviCRM 4.4.n and 4.5 work just fine for me with WordPress 4.0. I think it's just that the documentation is out of date.

I concur with the above, Wordpress 4.0 has only been out a few weeks and the team has been pushing hard to get Civi 4.5 out the door so it probably just didn't get updated.  To my knowledge the changes to Wordpress for 4.0 were not extensive when it comes to plugins, so I don't see any reason why Civi 4.4 wouldn't also work.
