Wordpress Base Page not working when CiviCRM produces an error
October 02, 2014, 04:12:05 am
Hey CiviCRM gurus,

I have configured the Wordpress Base Page in the UI and it works great. However in all cases when a public page throws an error, the error message is displayed on my home not the base page. This is a problem for me as the home page us heavily customised and the error message makes the page break and look terrible.

Current example is that I made a profile with public fields to allow people to sign up to a newsletter group on the front end of my site. I copied the HTML Form Snippet from Civi, in to a page on my site. Everything is fine when the form is filled out correctly and the person is redirecte to my thanks page, but if any of the required fields are incomplete then Civi throws up and error to tell the user that there was a problem. This error doesn't use the Wordpress Base Page and instead uses my home page.

Any ideas how I can resolve this.

Thanks in advance

Dan C

Sometimes in Wordpress if you aren't using the shortcodes they don't display right when it comes to errors or confirmation messages.  I know I found the workaround at one point on the forums but for the life of me I can't find it again.  In your current example though, have you tried using the shortcode to display that same profile and what result does that have?

usr profile short codes instead of html form snippet in wordpress. that should redirect u back to the shortcode page in case of an error
