DB Error: syntax error, Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment.
October 02, 2014, 06:40:55 am
Hello,

I am the administer of civicrm at our organization. Lately when I try to delete someone, it now says "DB Error: syntax error, Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment."

I am not a developer but am hoping to solve this on my own before contacting anyone if possible.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Can you go into the log files for Civi and find the entry that goes with one of these occurances?  The displayed error is very generic but the data contained in the log should give us some idea what might be going on.  In Drupal you can find the logs in the /sites/default/files/civicrm/ConfigAndLog/ directory.

I can't seem to locate the files in Drupal. I'm not familiar enough with where it would be located. Do you know how I can find it?

Sorry, my instructions weren't very clear.  You need to connect to your server via FTP or a File Manager (like through Cpanel or Plesk).  Once you have done that you need to get into the main directory with your sites files (this is different for different servers) and then go to the /sites/default/files/civicrm/ConfigAndLog/ directory.  There should be a file in there that ends in .log.  If there are multiple then you are looking for the one that was updated most recently.
