[Feature Request?] How to add CC'd Credit Card Event Registration Email

When we do Event registrations, sometimes we need to CC an accountant or another third party. Right now, it just sends the receipt to one place. How could this be handled?

On the Event Configuration > Online Registration page in the backend, we can set up CC emails to ourselves and then manually forward receipts, but that is cumbersome.

Could there be a profile field called "Send Receipt To" that would mail it to another email?

Yes there could, thought it would need someone commited to making it happen - would you be able to support this development with funds or developer time?

I accomplish the same thing by creating an email alias like event1@mydomain.com and forward to the event director and our accounting guy who keeps track of the payment tracking.

Hey there,

I re-read your post and on a second reading (maybe I am yet to wake up!) it wasn't crystal clear to me the use case for this.  Are we talking about when someone in your office is doing a manual registration (rather than someone registering themselves?

It would be good to get a clear and detailed account of what the use case is, etc., where you need the field, some expected workflows etc., which will help us spec out and cost the functionality.

What we are trying to find the ideal solution for is this:

For our conferences, sometimes we will send out an invitation to a organization for their members to attend. The first scenario, where an HR person uses the "Register Multiple Participants" feature, works just fine.

In the other scenario, where the HR person might forward the registration invite to numerous parties -- they would register themselves. What we'd like to have happen: when they register via the front end, there is an additional email field called "Forward Registration Receipt To" (or something adjustable like this) where they could put in the HR persons email, who would receive a copy of the registration receipt.

Perhaps someone has a more advanced scenario, or perhaps this is easily done via rules or something I haven't thought of. Hope that helps.

Hey there,

Thanks for the extra information.

OK - that sounds (to me) like a not particularly common use case.  Given that, I would recommend the following approach: get someone to write an extension for you that covers this use case (you could use your current support to do that, or alternatively, there is a list of CiviCRM service providers here that might be able to help: https://civicrm.org/providers).

If it proves to be a very popular extension, then there would be an argument for moving it from an extension to core, but I would start with an extension for now.

Webform civi would allow you to do that - but no idea if other outcomes you are trying to achieve can be covered by webform-civi but obviously 'registering an event' can be
