Missing contact in mass-mailing Warning : Undefined offset

After selecting several contacts to send a mass mailing, I noticed that several of them (including my own) are missing in the list to receive the mailing.

The total of the Recipients is wrong.
instead of 10 contact I have a Total Recipients: 0

There is a warning :
Notice: Undefined offset: 3 in CRM_Mailing_Form_Test->buildQuickForm() (line 165 of /home/photocontact/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Mailing/Form/Test.php).

I have a brand new install of Civi 4.5.1 and I did import all the contacts manually.

Any idea ?

Some things to check

* do they have all have email addresses?
* do they have privacy settings like do not mail?
* are the marked as deceased?
* are their email addresses on hold?
