Suspect Ajax (or the like) problems post 4.4.6 --> 4.5.1 upgrade
October 13, 2014, 10:27:27 am
Greetings,

I suspect we have an Ajax (or the like) problems post 4.4.6 --> 4.5.1 upgrade. Two places at least trouble is showing up:

1) When editing a contact, the section headings (Contact Details, Address, Communication Preferences, Tags and Groups, etc...) will not open nor close. The sections are stuck in their initial state upon page load.

2) When viewing a contact, then clicking the "Add address" button, a spinning triangle appears spinning forever.

Has someone already reported this sort of trouble with 4.5.1 and I just did not recognize the common thread by message subject line?

BTW: This is accessing the site with Mozilla Firefox 32.0.3 on Linux. Opera 12.16 on Linux will not open the CiviCRM top menus when they are clicked, so even worse behavior than with Mozilla Firefox. As well, the CiviCRM top menus are equally broken in Google Chrome for Linux as they are in Opera on Linux. (Never mind, Opera and Chrome just load slower than Mozilla Firefox. Now in both of those the top Civi menu is working. Same 1 and 2 behavior in all three browsers.)

I am thankful,

This is a known issue for D6: https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-15450

Hi Coleman - would it be OK to update my D6 Civi 4.5 installation with the latest commit for https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-15450 ?

Greetings Coleman,

Thank you for already knowing the solution. May I hot-fix our production server ahead of CiviCRM 4.5.2? If so, please explain so I may patch it.

I am thankful,

Yes, you can apply the patch yourself: https://github.com/civicrm/civicrm-core/pull/4352.diff
Or just wait for 4.5.2 to be released tomorrow :)

Thank you for posting the link. Dev/Prod sites patched and working beautifully.

I  think I will give the community a day or two to let the new build shake-n-bake while we digest 4.5.1 more completely.

We'll upgrade after our event next week.
