PopUp - CiviCRM Menu Hidden
October 19, 2014, 08:47:47 pm
All,

I just upgraded to CiviCRM V4.5.2. My site also uses the Administration Menu module. When I select the Drupal Menu option, I am presented with a warning window that says CiviCRM Menu Hidden. This is a new behavior with 4.5.2 - and it's very annoying. How can this warning be disabled?

Thank you.

It's not a warning, and not intended to be annoying, it's just a button to get the CiviCRM menu back should you want it (in previous versions there was no way to get it back which could be confusing).

Coleman,

thank you. Let me re-ask my question: How can I disable the button?

There is no setting to disable it. Is it in the way? Preventing you from accessing the Drupal menu items you want? I'm trying to understand the need for this.

It is an annoyance - it pops up and doesn't go away until explicitly dismissed.

If you can suggest a better way to present a "give me back the CiviCRM menu" button, that would be great.

Hmm, this is an interesting conundrum.  If someone accidentally turns off the menu I could see wanting to have this button but if they did it on purpose I could see wanting to not have the button either.  Maybe the answer is to offer an option on the popup to permanently dismiss the message?

This makes the message less obtrusive (no icon, no title, disappears after 10 seconds)

Coleman,

Thank you. I may have goofed something up, but I do not see it disappearing after ten seconds.

(assuming you applied the patch) try clearing your browser cache (ctrl-shift-r on many browsers)

Coleman - Dumb question alert: I did patch the files, but is there anything else I need to do to 'apply the patch'?
