Membership renewal with a new start date
October 26, 2014, 08:26:23 pm
I'm using Drupal 7 with Civicrm. In my membership renewal form, I have a field "Start Date". When member renew 3 months of membership, the expiry date should be 3 months after the "Start Date", rather than 3 months after the last expiration (old member) or 3 months since today (new member).

Is there any way to do it?

Do I understand that you want the user filling in the form to be able the 'start date'?

I don't think this has been done before and I don't think it will be possible without some coding - if you are capable of this then I would ask for guidance on IRC.

If not then if you have some funds you could make enquiries for a developer via https://civicrm.org/providers

Yes, I will set a required field "start date" for user to fill in.

Yes, I can do some coding and it is great if you can give me some document or link for guidance. Thank you.

check in on IRC sometime and you may find some helpful pointers but I have no idea how deep this is going to take you :-p
