Can a registry to an EVENT be auto set for a GROUP & MEMBERSHIP?

Hi,

 New to CiviCRM and didn't find an answer - Can a user registring to an EVENT, get automatically assigned a GROUP and a MEMBERSHIP?

You can make a Smart Group - so that is possible.

It is not possible to auto-create a Membership based on an 'event' such as registering for an Event - or joining a group.

I don't know if others have found a way of doing this.

WOuld the membership 'start date' be the date they register for the event, or the date 'of' the event?

Care to explain the workflow in case some other way of doing this is feasible

Oh - i didn't think to say what CMS you are using. If drupal then a webform-civicrm may be able to do an event and membership at same time. it certainly can do an event and group, or a membership and group.
