DB error on upgrade 4.4.6 -> 4.5.2 (D7)
October 28, 2014, 02:55:19 pm
I'm using drush and Aegir with provision_civicrm to host a lot of sites, and am currently doing a round of upgrades. I was able to migrate a few sites on 7.30/4.4.6 to 7.32/4.5.2 without incident, but one site fails at the db schema update steps. In the error log there are references to

Unknown column 'civicrm_custom_field.in_selector'

At a suggestion from a maintainer of Provision_civicrm, I pre-applied the 4.5alpha schema changes which add this column and then attempted the upgrade. No luck there either: the result was a new set of errors complaining about a duplicate column name.

Is something potentially amiss with the schema update logic? Anything I can do as a workaround?

I would suggest you roll back and run the upgrade manually and see if you get a full error message. Or if you have the full message from your logs, post that here.

New information: the site in question has 25 custom fields defined and a detailed profile which uses them. All the successful migrations to date have been on sites with only a couple of custom fields at most.
