On the volunteer signup form you can display the roles and times required but how do you show the role descriptions so people know what they ar signing up for.

I can see how that might work but given the same profile is used for multiple event types and each type has different set of volunteer roles then this would be over complex as I would have to list all role descriptions for every event

@markandphil: The CiviVolunteer forum isn't really the place for help with this particular topic, but I think the answer is that you'll need to customize your form to achieve this behavior. If you want to stay out of PHP and template overrides, I think this can be done fairly easily in pure JS.

@jorich_2000: I think the public sign up form could use an overhaul, generally speaking. If you'd like to request a new feature or contribute to the conversation about how the form should behave, please vote up an existing issue or create a new one in the roadmap. The squeaky wheels get the grease; the issues with the most community input and funding will be prioritized.
