I have installed CiviCrm on 3 different Joomla websites (with either Joomla 2.5 or 3.3). I also installed the latest CiviCRM Version 4.5.4.
I have big problems with all 3 installations and I'm just about to forget CiviCRM forever. I spent to much time to figure out, what the problems could be, deleting completely and reinstalling several times the component. Finally, I went to the official Demo Site of CiviCRM: http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/. And what surprise: Also on this official CiviCRM Joomla Demo site there are error messages, i.e. on the CiviCRM Main Control Panel (Home).

I'm very disappointed. 

I'm a webdesigner and not a programmer, I hope to find a good tool for 3 clients of mine, all NGOs, but I believe I will drop CiviCRM.

Thanks for reporting - that error is fixed now.

Typically, deleting and starting again is a 'last resort' kind of approach.  I would ask questions here on the forum about specific problems before doing that - it is typically a pretty good place to come and ask questions and get them answered.

I've been looking in the forums for hours / days. You said, you fixed the problem on the demo site: What exactly did you do to fix it, because we have the same error/message.

I just installed Civicrm 4.3.8. No errors so far.
