November 03, 2014, 02:35:51 pm
Hi Guys,

I imported some contacts into my new CiviCRM 4.2.0. environment and unfortunately I did not specify the contact group the contact where supposed to be imported into.

where can I find these contacts please and tag them all into one group.

Code: [Select]
my new CiviCRM 4.2.0If this is a new install of Civi, why would you start off on such an old version. New sites should install 4.5.

Finding contacts you just imported can be a little tricky, a couple tricks:
  • I think there is a custom search that will find contacts by date added
  • Since contact ids are sequential (1st contact added to the system will be cid 2, then 3, and so on) you could use search builder to find contacts with a cid > n (where n is the first cid of the contact you imported)

Thank you so Much Coleman, I found the contacts.

I am using such an old version of Civicrm due to the restrictions imposed by our web hosting provider :(

Again thank you for you quick and helpful reply

Emmy those sort of hosting restrictions could leave you with an insecure system either with civi or drupal

i hope they are at least keeping you on the last core drupal code

Emmy, those restrictions are so absurd I can't believe your host is still in business.
Trust me, as someone who tried to "make due" with bad hosting for way too long, ditch them now! Every day you keep them is a day's worth of headaches you don't need.
