Install SSL
November 05, 2014, 12:23:21 am
Hi,

I'm planning to get a SSL certificate and use it for both Drupal and CiviCRM, so is there any step by steps guide I can follow to do that?

I was able to find the Drupal doco but not a clear doco for CiviCRM so far.

Appreciate any assistance.

Michael McAndrew

It is fairly simple.

http://d45.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/url?reset=1 has a few settings that you can change (and accompanying help text). I would follow the Drupal instructions, and then make appropriate changes in the CiviCRM config (depending on your set up, you might want to change the base url in civicrm.settings.php to https as well).

If you find that there is stuff that you wished you'd know but didn't (or if you just feel like making a small contribution to the CiviCRM community) please write some docs to cover setting up SSL for CiviCRM.  The best place for them would probably be on the wiki as a child page of these pages: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Installation+and+Upgrades
