Speed of civicrm 4.52

Is civicrm 4.52 slower?

The quick search in the top left hand corner seems to take forever to load ever since I upgraded to 4.52 from 4.4x.

The speed of CiviCRM is due to many factors, the speed and busy-ness of your server, and size of your database all have a major impact. I haven't noticed version having much effect, but maybe others can chime in here if they've noticed anything different?

I have not heard of nor noticed any significant differences in speed either. Perhaps try cleaning out your Drupal and CiviCRM caches.

Hmm..when I write "taking forever to load", I literally mean that.

The icon just keeps on going in a clockwise manner with no results being shown.

That's something different. Did you clean our your templates? If so, then can you use Firebug for Firefox and try to see what URL is being loaded when you run that search? Then click on it and open in a tab? Or see the results there in Firebug.

It seems that a common cause of this is incorrect error settings in php.ini. If you inspect the response from the server in your console and see php notices at the top, that's it.
Edit your php.ini file and change display_errors = On to display_errors = Off

I've answered this same question several times before. If we were using StackExchange you might have been able to find those answers :)

StackExchange? What exactly is that? Can you send us a link to this tool Coleman, so that we perhaps could use it? :)

Funny you should ask Hershel. The link is in my signature just below this message :)

And while we're hijacking this topic (not so easily done on SE) I'd like to encourage you to answer a few questions on drupal answers. The thing that's holding us back right now is we don't have enough committers who have 200+ rep on a different SE site. I noticed that you have an account but haven't started using it yet. If you could answer just a couple drupal questions today, you'd be well on your way to 200 rep.

A lot of them are actually quite easy to answer: http://drupal.stackexchange.com/questions
