CiviCRM very slow after SSL enabled
November 18, 2014, 09:53:15 am
Hi,
In a CiviCRM 4.5.3 on Joomla! 3.3.6 I have enabled SSL for the hole site. Everything is Ok, except that the first access to CiviCRM on an administrative session is taking minutes (5, 6...) to load. It start happening very after the SSL was enabled. Subsequent CiviCRM pages load normally, it only happens the first time we go to Joomla! Admin panel and select CiviCRM (or enter a CiviCRM URL in the browser). The server load (CPU, etc) is normal during those long time load process. Resources URLs are OK, as well as site addresses at civicrm.settings.php files and at civicrm_domain table. I've tried swithing on and off the Apache redirect, no difference. I think it has something to do with CiviCRM trying to find/connect to itself in some wrong way and only after that times out the things move again.
I've seem some posts about problems with SSL, but nothing looks like to aply in this case. I'm out of ideas about what to do now, may anyone help?
Thanks! Diego

Hard to say. Did you test this from other locations? Perhaps it's your ISP.

Isn't it hard? :/
Yes, already tried from other, totally different location. I'm going try to shut SSL down.

Do non-CiviCRM pages also load slowly with SSL?

No, only in Civi. I tried some changes in configuration and the problem gone away, couldn't specify exactly what happened. Thank you anyway!
