Problem with profile error message

4.5.4: I am saving a new profile (profile tab) for a membership sign up page and get this error:

"You should move the membership related fields in the "On Behalf" profile for this Contribution Page"

I have no clue what this means. It shows this if it's top or bottom of page. I selected contribute on behalf of organization on the title tab.

Hey there,

That message could definitley do with some improvement. Once you've worked out the problem, would be good to submit a clearer message as an issue, or even better as a patch.

I suspect this has something to do with where the membership fields need to be located.  Maybe you have them in the individual profile, and they should be moved to the organizational profile (or visa versa, though I expect the former is more likely).

In which case a suggested improvement for that message would be "Since you using this page for membership sign up on behalf of an organization, you should move the membership related fields from the [individual??] profile to the organisational 'On Behalf' profile".

I had the same message when doing the following :
* creating a contribution form with required on behalf of organisation
* adding a profile with custom membership fields in Profile tab of the contribution config form

The problem is : when i try to add the membership field to my onbehalf profile, i get the error : Cannot add or update profile field type Membership with combination of Activity or Participant or Contribution or Household or Organization

Do i miss something ? Maybe i should open a new JIRA for this.

Ok, got it. It only works if using the reserved "On behalf of" profile and not if using a custom made profile.
So clearly a limitation here but not a big one : someone couldn't set several organization membership contribution form with different profile, each containing at least one membership field.

Nope, i spoke too soon.
It doesn't work even for reserved "On behalf of" profile : the profile is not listed in the choice for On behalf profile any more.
So i guess it's a real bug and i will post a jira for this.
