New memberships and wordpress users

I have configured a membership sign up page with a profile that includes the contact First Name and Last Name fields. When a user is logged into wordpress, and has a first and last name in their wordpress profile, shouldn't the membership form preload these values into the first name and last name text boxes?

Only if there is a corresponding CiviCRM contact record linked to the user's wordpress account.

Go to Administer -> Users and Permissions -> Synchronize Users to Contacts
