How to display Organisation Members ?
November 24, 2014, 03:08:24 am
I want to display a list of all the Individual Members of Organisation "Alpha", with their memberships types : how can I do that ?

When I display Alpha Contact, "Memberships" is inactive : "Memberships" is only active for Members, not for Owners

And I see no Selection or Report which proposes to Select an Owner to display its Members

hi - not clear quite under what circumstances you want this 'display' or who should/not see it. But since you are using Drupal, Views is likely to be your friend if you don't find a way directly in civicrm

Re: How to display Organisation Members ?

Hi Petednz,

My site manages several Organizations (let's call them Alpha, Beta, ...) : for each of them, I define Membership Types, according to the Organization's structure.

Each Organization has its Admin who manages its Members (Individuals) (i.e. creates memberships via a WebForm) : at this stage, everything is OK

Examples of what I would like (and can't) :
- I want each Admin to be able to check his job, i.e. display the list of his Organization Members, with their respective Membership Type(s) in the Organization
- I also want him to be able to email to its Members, filtered or not upon their Membership Type(s)

Concerning Views (I just heard of) :
- where can I find documentation about Views ? Do I need to previously install the Module ?
- from what I understand, Views can access to the Civi DataBase ? Is it a problem if Civi and Drupal have separate DataBases ?

NB : as you know, I previously tested Relationships to do all this, but I want to also test CiviMember (which seems more complete) before making a choice decision (which might be different depending upon such or such Organization) : your advice is welcome (FYI, there is no Membership fee).

I think I have found :

When I display my Organisation, I click "memberships" : this displays :
- no Membership for my Organisation (which is actually not a Member of anything)
- the list of Membership Types defined for thisOrganisation

For each MembershipType, I can then display the list of Members, and then make different actions (e.g. send a mail)

This answers my needs

Anyway, thanks a lot for your attention and help
