Can I use VERP on regular activity mail?
November 27, 2014, 06:59:03 am
Is it possible to apply VERP to simple messages sent from civicrm/activity/email/add, as opposed to Mailings? We'd like to include these messages in the automatic setting of bad addresses to on-hold. We'd also like the real inboxes of teachers at member schools to not be swamped with bounces when the teacher emails their school's alumni through our system. (We don't allow them access to Mailings.)

Also, am I right in thinking that the domain that is checked for SPF on a VERPed message is the domain of the bounce mailbox, not necessarily the From address or the address of the logged-in user?

the way verp emails are currently sent from civicrm is closely tied to civimail tables. So using that same code as is is potentially a lot of work and probably not the best way, IMO

i would research verp and see if there are other ways u can verp those emails independent of civimail
