Membership renewal fees not recorded after renewal

When a membership renewal is made by admin staff, the renewal records correctly, but the fee is recorded as '0.00', even though it is correctly set in the renewal screen.

I'm not seeing any errors or backtraces with debugging enabled. Any idea what might be the problem?
