Change bad translations EN-DE

Hello,

I found some awkward translation into German (have actually a bi-lingual site). How to correct the translation without using transiflex?

The English string is "Mailing List Subscription" but somehow I could not find the Translation Text for this.

Couldf somebody give my some advice where to start. Thank you!

With a bi-lingual site you can't use word replacements, at least I don't think so, because they are global. Why would you not want to use transifex? It would allow you to correct the translation permanently.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.

I can't tell for sure but I think you can use the Word Replacements also in Multilanguage Sites. Have been a while since I used one (must have been Version 4.3). Try out the following:

If you switch the CiviCRM-UI to German and then go to word replacements you should be able to enter the Word Replacements for the German UI. If you switch the CiviCRM-UI to English and then go to word replacements you should be able to enter the Word Replacements for the English UI (if you also need to change those).

In the Word Replacement Screen simply put "Mailing List Subscription" on the left side and "Newsletter-Abonnement" (or whatever you want) on the right side and make sure the replacement is activated.

That being said, I would also recommend to use the latest translation from Transifex and then only replace the strings you don't like.

Best Regards
Fabian
