Some Renewal Reminders Not Going Out???

Hi. I have a problem with our site not sending out renewal reminders correctly. Only 25% were sent out this time. Up until now it has worked perfectly.

There were no error messages. It just seemed to stop silently with no warning. Looking at the details of those that were sent successfully it looks as though the problem relates to the financial year which is set to end on 31 August. All new memberships since this date seemed to have received their reminders ok. Accounts with memberships during the past year have not received their reminders.

Am I missing something? We send membership reminders 3 times a year (termly). Should I have ticked the repeat option for accounts to receive reminders in the second year? My understanding of this option was that it was to stop duplicates going out. Should this have been ticked for year 2 and subsequent years?

We are using CiviCRM 4.4.6. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Hi John - yes we hit this too.

Our poorman's work around is to recommend you create a new Scheduled Reminder for each year, and basically roll it over each year.

When we tried doing the 'repeat' - which was the recommended recipe for this problem - we ended up with contacts getting reminders hourly - which of course didn't end happily

Thanks Pete for the quick reply- I am glad I didn't select the repeat option!

This sounds a bit like a bug that needs fixing. Also, the documentation doesn't seem to mention this issue. Will report it for fixing - I suspect that I am not the only user who has run into this problem.
