CiviDiscount upgrade fails - can't extract file

I get this error when I try to upgrade the CiviDiscount extension:

Extension Upgrade Failed
Download failed - ZIP file is unavailable or malformed

Can I download it and then upload it to a place on my server where it can just grab the extracted files? I'm gathering it is having issues because the file is a .zip file and I think usually they're something like .gz

Well, since I'm working on a development copy of the site, I decided to just try something out. I downloaded and extracted the files manually and then overwrote the old ones. Then I went to the page with the extensions and it said I had 3.0 and popped up saying I had database upgrades. Ran that and all seems to be good.

So if you run into this same error, try this.  :)
