quick and dirty order forms, email invoicing and recurring billing w/civicrm 1.9
May 28, 2008, 12:06:03 pm
Hey folks,

I would be grateful for advice on how to quickly get going with setting up order forms, email invoicing and recurring billing using civicrm 1.9. Here are the specs we originally wrote up and they are mostly unchanged from this:

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRM/Kabissa+Spec+5+-+Order+Hosting

We initially hoped to handle this within civicrm, but all of my exploring seems to lead me to the conclusion that there is no easy, low-cost way to set this up within civicrm, and perhaps it was unrealistic to hope that there would be.

So what I'm looking at now is identifying some other online accounting solution with good import/export capabilities and can handle the order forms, email invoicing and recurring billing. We would then manually import/export information about billing to civicrm as we go along.

I don't know what the best third party tool would be for this - quickbooks online?

What have others done? How can we get this done, and quickly?

Cheers,

Tobias

I did a quick google search for "turnkey billing" and came across Billing Circle, which I had not heard of before. I'm not sure how well they do with order forms etc, but have written to find out more and have linked them to this post. Here is their initial response - which is promising.

Billing Circle does have a full API for sending across transactions into our
system, and from then on would handle all aspects of email invoicing and
recurring billing.  There is currently no off-the-shelf Drupal integration,
though the programming for the API is quite simple and we do provide sample
PHP code.

API Docs: http://www.billingcircle.com/connect/docs/
Sample Code: http://www.billingcircle.com/connect/example/example.zip

We also offer custom programming services when necessary.

Cheers,

Tobias

nope - nothing happened on this end. Still not sure how to address this issue and need a solution.

Cheers,
