Autocomplete is broken in Civi 4.5.4

I have upgraded from 4.5.3 to 4.5.4 and autocomplete is broken in all admin search screens like search builder, advanced search, or the quick search in the top-left corner.

Autocomplete fields just stick on "loading" and never populate. I have looked at error consoles in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, and get no JavaScript errors.

WordPress is on 4.0.1

Thanks, unfortunately none of those posts helped.

I tried a few browsers and finally got a JS error in Chrome:

query-1.11.1.min.js?r=7Lucm:4 GET http://_____.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/ajax/rest&e…A%22rogers%22%2C%22field_name%22%3A%22%22%2C%22table_name%22%3A%22cc%22%7D 403 (Forbidden)

Is the domain name in the error URL the same as the one in your browser for the main page, i.e. both have or don't have www in front?

403 means access denied. You need to ensure your user has permission to do whatever it is you are trying to do.
