profile inherits 'used for...' when copied ?

I think this might be a bug.

I copied a profile called 'Contact Information' which was used by both civiEvent and civiContribute
The copied profile inherited the 'used for' civiEvent and civiContribute
even though this new profile 'Copy of Contact information' is not used by civiEvent or civiContribute.

now when I try to delete 'Copy of Contact Information' profile I get:

"This profile cannot be deleted since it is used for other modules."

which isn't the case.

If I check 'settings' of the profile I am not able to unselect civiEvent or civiContribute.

Is this a bug? or am I overlooking something.

can u please reproduce this below on demo. Once reproduced, can u please file an issue against issues.civicrm.org

we'll take care of fixing this for 1.8

I reproduced the bug on the demo and filed the issue as you requested.

On the demo the two profiles I created are called "profile bug" and the copy "copy of profile bug"
before copying the profile I assigned it to both a donation page "bug test" and an event "bug test".

The results on the demo are exactly the same.
