WP | Civi 4.5.4 | Cannot import brithdate in dd/mm/yy or dd/mm/yyyy format
December 07, 2014, 02:47:38 am
Hello,

I'd like to report an issue when importing contacts bith date formatted either like this dd/mm/yy or dd/mm/yyyy - despite selecting the appropriate format at import wizard 1st step. In both case the output of the import is "January 1st, 1970".

We imported also a custom field with date format and it worked well with both format - so it seems only related to birth date.

I imported the birth date and the custom field using english date format (mm/dd/yy or mm/dd/yyyy) and it worked well for both.

I was able to reproduce the bug on http://wpmaster.demo.civicrm.org/ (cannot log into demo site, login+pwd not working)

Thanks for fixing it

The January 1st, 1970 means the birth date has the value NULL?

I've also seen this bug, and have got round it by changing the date (using Excel) to (.e.g) '7 Dec 14' which does work.  Guess I should have reported this as a bug on Jira, rather than work around it.

there is an issue for this here:

https://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-15513

would be helpful if someone can investigate and submit a patch so this can be fixed in an earlier release

Hello,
Any news on fixing this issue ? No progress on the JIRA bug tracking tool.
Unfortunately I'm not developper so I won't be able to help.
Thanks

PS: issue is still ongoing with 4.5.6
