Civi creating a new contact each time I login [FIXED]
December 10, 2014, 05:47:40 am
Civi is creating a new contact record each time I login!  A contact record with just my email address is created.  This is creating problems, of course, with dashboard/email to activity etc.  I suspected dedupe so I reviewed my settings and reverted them to what a new install of Civi would be.   But still the same problem, and it seems to affect all users (thankfully, there aren't many) except the base Admin signon.

Anyone else seen this?  I haven't got a clue... and it's really messing things up

I love answering my own posts, but hopefully someone with the same problem will see this.
This problem is (sort of) answered by LindseyM in http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,24198.15.html but in my case the problem was that the users in Civi had an incorrect Drupal user id number.  This happened because I moved the CiviCRM database but not the Drupal database. I recreated the Civi users in the new Drupal database and so they got different user ids.  Fix?  I zapped the Drupal database with the correct numbers.
