Problems with Avada Theme inBackend with 4.5.4

We have a WordPress site utilizing the Avada Theme and running CiviCRM 4.5.4. In the back end all of the popup features in 4.5 are not working. Also, when creating an event or contribution page the drop down for selecting a profile and the buttons to edit or add new are not there.

It is definitely theme related. I am wondering if anyone has seen similar behavior or has an idea what I should look for.

It's hard to debug premium themes on account of them being, well, not free. But still...

Do you have any Javascript errors in your console?

Do you have Jetpack installed? If so, enable contact forms. Does its popup work?
