Drupal user account registration option - Account creation required ?
December 12, 2014, 07:35:21 am
Hi

I'm confused as to wether or not this is a bug.

Within profiles, there is a 'Drupal user account registration option?' which you can set to 'Account creation required'.
If you use that profile in eg. a contribution form, it sometimes asks for a username to be created, and then indeed creates a drupal user and sends out mails and such.

But not always. It seems as if if a civi contact already exists, it doesnt ask for a username, and no drupal account is created, even if the contact has no drupal account yet.

Thats too bad, because if you ever ask a user to update or create a civi contact, and in the same session, later, get to a form using that profile, no drupal account is created anymore. Which is perhaps also why 'creating membership registration including a linked drupal account with drupal webforms' doesnt seem work, which is what I was hoping for.

Is that intentional ?

so this is an issue if you are sending people to the profile via a checksum link?

I am also having a similar issue. I have created a Farmer Profile type and set "Drupal user account registration option?" to Account creation required.

However, when I got create a new profile on a completely new browser, as an anonymous user and submit the Profile form no User Account registration is required.

Would be happy to provide a screencast of the current if anyone would be willing to help.

When creating the profile at Used for did you tick the box in front of Drupal User Registration.

Also have you configured your Drupal User Settings to allow 'visitors to create accounts' (with or without administrator approval) and have you included a Primary Email Address field in the profile.
