Big Performance Hit After Upgrading to 4.5
December 18, 2014, 04:14:20 pm
I have a CiviCRM on Drupal site that ran very well on 4.4 but after upgrading to 4.5 it is running much more slowly.  I do not have any extensions running. Look for suggestions on where to look for problems and possible solutions.  More caching?

Thanks!

Maybe set MySql to log slow queries? That would give you a bit more info.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.

If you moved stuff around during the upgrade, you might have changed permissions on some folders. Could you check if your web server can still write into the cache (template_c) directory?

If it's not the case, can you set php to display notice and warnings, it might provide a hint.

On my side, we haven't noticed any visible change of performance between 4.4 and 4.5 for small sites (eg <  10k contacts). For bigger sites, I've mostly receive comments about some stuff being faster.
