Hi,
I am using CiviCRM 4.3.5 with Drupal 7.22. I am using default Civi profile "Name and Address" for collecting user info on User Registration page and on all the Contribution pages. When a logged in user reaches a contribution page, Name and Address profile fields are automatically pulled from the Database. Now, if the user changes any of these field values on the contribution page, it gets updated on his account page also (Profile fields are getting saved in the database). This seems to be a default Civi feature.

There does not seem to be an option to stop this from happening. Is there a way to achieve this? I do not want Name and Address fields to get updated from contribution pages. Users should be able to change Name and Address only from Edit Account page.

There is a flag 'View Only' on each field in the profile, that should do the trick?

Clone your Name and Address Profile - rename it to something else - set the fields to Read Only - and use that for your Contribution page - not the same Profile as for the User Rego page
