Not all profiles showing in Online Registration for Events
December 19, 2014, 05:36:16 am
I am having a problem with creating an Online Registration for an Event.

When I look at the list of Profiles available, I only see the Public ones, not the User and User Manager ones.

What do I need to do to show all of them in that dropdown?

Thanks,
Brian

Only public profiles are available for online registrations. If there is a profile you wish to use you can copy it and edit as needed. We usually create a custom profile for our event registrations. Most of them have a few custom fields such as meal restrictions, etc. Then if we need something different we copy it go from there.

Hope this helps.

Since your reply, I have been learning more about things.

I was confused, it is the Fields that are Public vs User and User Manager, not the Profiles.

We have a list of User-Defined Profiles, all marked Active, with none having any sort of Public or Private marking.

However, only about half of these Profiles show up on the Online Registration configuration form, in either the Top of Page or Bottom of Page dropdown lists.

The "missing" Profiles that are of most interest, and perhaps all of the missing ones, contain custom data field sets.

We have found, so far, that if we duplicate a "good" Profile, and then add a newly-created Custom Field set, rather than one of the existing ones, that new Profile will show up in the dropdown, but not if it contains one of the old Custom Field sets.

Any idea what is going on here?

Why can't we seem to use the User-Defined Profiles that we used in 4.4.x, using Custom Field sets, in 4.5.x?

Thank you,
Brian

"View all custom data" must be a permission available for all anonymous users for these fields to appear on public forms.

Setting individual fields to "Public" has no effect on visibility and in fact can be dangerous if combined with other settings.  I don't recommend "Public" field settings at all, in fact, unless you are sure you know what you are doing.
