Importing seems to work but no actual change
December 23, 2014, 04:39:40 am
Hi all,
I've been having a few issues when I try to use Import to update contact information that was missing from the original import. After performing the import and getting success messages to completion, I look at the contact that should have been updated but the missing information isn't there. I've tried "Fill" and "Update" for the dedupe option but neither changes things. The dedupe rule that I've been using is one that I created myself, which is "First and Last Name", and performs as describes.

I've seen this happen when trying to update the following information:
1. Phone number for individual
2. Master Address Belongs to for Household

Also, the import registers in the changelog for the target contacts, so the import was successful. It just didn't add the information that I was hoping for.

Your profile indicates you are on 4.5.0 . You should upgrade to the latest point version which  is 4.5.5.  There have been a lot of bug fixes since 4.5.0 and also at least one security fix. It could be your problem will disappear when you have upgraded.

Then again, it might not, but best practice is to always to be on the latest upgrade for you version.
