(Partially Fixed) Setting Permissions for user group don't save...
December 23, 2014, 07:09:29 pm
Hi,

- J!: 3.3.6
- CiviCrm: 4.5.0 / 4.5.5 (was hoping upgrade fixed it)

I have created a new user group under manager called "CiviCRM Administrator" and I want to now allow that group full access to CiviCRM. So I go into the Joomla ACL manager and set the new setting to "Allowed" and then click Save. However when I open up the permissions again none of the selections have saved. Has anyone got a work around to make the permissions save ie work?

this is most likely due to the max_input_vars setting in your php.ini

try increasing this. diegov found this very recently and posted it on the forums:

Hi Donald,

Thanks for the max vars pointer that got things saving. However..... It looks to me like CiviCRM still has the permissions a little screwed up. The "CiviCRM Admisistator" has all the permissions allowed and is NOT part of the Super User group yet the  calculated setting is "Allowed (Super Users)". AFAIK it should only be "Allowed" or am I misreading something here?

sorry, dont know about that issue. Can you please investigate

As far as i know, civi just informs joomla of the permissions it needs. Joomla does the rest of the stuff

Hi Lobo,

I will look. For what it is worth the permissions appear to be working as expected.
