Autodiscount not applied for events - CiviDiscount extension - SOLVED

Hi guys,
I've installed and configured the CiviDiscount extension + set up a discount (see screen shot) but the autodiscount is not being applied in a test event.
Can you see anything glaring with the discount set-up?

Events must be set as public for the discount to be applied. That is one thing to check. Do your events use price sets? If so, try selecting the price lines you want to discount. Also, make sure you are logged in with an account with the appropriate membership.

Hope this helps. I do a lot with cividiscount but mostly using codes as opposed to auto discounts for members. These are a couple things that have hung me up in the past.

Thank you so much for the hints, KilakwaBT.
"Public event" field is checked off, I'm not using price sets (just entered the fee in the "Fees" tab), and the logged in user has one of the memberships listed as eligible for the discount.

Applying the discount code manually on the registration page does work. I'll try using price sets next.

Howdy, guys. I'm really at a loss. I tried all sorts of combinations, including using price fields instead of just entering the event price(s) on the "Fee" tab of the event and still... I cannot get the discount applied automatically for members.

The funny part is that I also checked off the "Display a message to users not eligible for this discount?" field and entered the message to display... but it neither displays the message nor it gives the discount. (it's like the system doesn't think the logged in user is eligible nor ineligible)

Has anyone gotten the autodiscount actually working? Do you mind posting a screen shot of your config?
Tried turning debug on but didn't get any obvious errors.

Howdy, guys. So I've been trying really hard to resolve this and thought I'd check things out on the demo site (Joomla) but could not get it work there either.

I installed the Discount extension there, configured one instance as shown in the attached screen shot, made sure the user who was logged in had the "General" membership assigned to them but no luck. I thought this use case is as vanilla as it gets so am puzzled why I can't make it work - any pointers?

[BTW, if for the field "Automatic discount for Membership Statuses" I chose anything other than "--any current status--" it would not save ... after save, click edit - the discount instance page opens up... and this field value is blank rather than, e.g., "Current"]

OK, continuing to talk to myself here ;-)
For some reason, it now works on my site, no changes made, just BAM... it works. So I'll mark this resolved and cross my fingers that it'll stay that way for the future events, too.
