Event participant reports, with price sets

The event participant report doesn't break down prices that are within price sets.

I know about the "Price Set Details for Event Participants" custom search ... my client is not going to want to try to assemble this information from three sources (Event Participants List, "Price Set Details for Event Participants" custom search, and a list of price set items and amounts).

Is there anything in CiviCRM that we can use to put all this together in one report?

There is an extension called 'Extended Reports' (https://civicrm.org/extensions/extended-reports) which allows you to create reports based on line items in the price sets. I found it quite helpful.

Does it work with current versions of CiviCRM?  It doesn't seem to be available to install.

Extended Reports should work on 4.4 & 4.5 & 4.6 - although TBH the version on github is probably much more up-to-date than the latest release available by UI download
