Offline Recurring Payments broken in 4.5?

I have installed this extension in 4.5 (in a test system) and although it installs and the background job runs, it doesn't appear to be working correctly.  I set up 3 test cases and none have worked OK.  The batch job listing says there are errors processing the contacts, but doesn't say what the error actually is.  Help?  Several of my clients use this very useful extension, so they can't move on to 4.5.

Yes - I had an email from the author, Andrew Walker - he's working on it.  Sounds like it's a non-trivial change for 4.5
