Civievent Confirmation page not showing - re-directs to Home page
January 10, 2015, 01:25:04 pm
I am running Joomla 3.3.6, Civicrm 4.5.2
I have tested the event registration on the backend and all seem to work fine.  When accessing an event (either via an event listing page, or by a direct menu link to register) I just get re-directed to the home page when I click the 'continue' button.  I cant see any obvious errors in any of the queries or back trace files.  Am I missing something?  seems likely it must be something to do with permissions or acl's...

In case anyone else comes across this heres the answer.
Although you can link too and display the registration page on the front end without having a user register/login it wont work for anonymous users.  I was linking from a hyperlink on a page.  I changed to link from a menu that was only visible to logged in users and all then worked fine.
I am thinking there must be some tweaks to the code that could be done to hook the register button in to joomla ACL's so it redirects to login if required a project for another day I think...

It's a bigger issue. it happens whether you are logged in, or not logged in. ACL is not the issue.
I'm already doing the hidden menu with my events listed there, then i have a button in my article referencing these events.
About 50% of the time the users get kicked back to the home page (whether they are logged in or not).

I'm on joomla 3.3.6, and civi 4.4.5. I'm going to test same on the newer version of civi, will let you know in a subsequent post if it is still happening to me.

My tests will include anonymous as well as logged in user.

More info to help you:

There is an annoying bug BUT with a work around that you will trip over.
When filling in an event form, clicking "Submit" get "Processing" that sits there for 2 to 3 minutes, then blank page. No email confirmations go out, no registration.

Bug recently discovered: work around is to disable pdf attachment to receipts.
Administer/System Settings/Misc. Turn off pdf attachments to receipts.
We don't really need it, as the same info is in the email. I have changed this setting to be "No".
