Hi, virgin WP/civi install was flawless until my first test mail. I tried with template and uploaded HTML, same result (below) any ideas? Many thanks.

Hi, no replies :(  tearing my hair out here--a week later. The problem seems intermittent :P My Admin console is all red.

Upon sending our newsletter to a test group I get.

Warning: mysqli_error() expects parameter 1 to be mysqli, resource given in ...clickandbuilds/TalismanTheatre/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/CRM/Core/Error.php on line 224

Sometimes mail() works, sometimes SMTP.

This is a multi-lingual install. I see that biologyben had a similar problem, indicating country selection.

Could it be something as dumb as an interrupted session at the service provider's end?

I'm a little disheartened, here. I know I'm a PITA CiviCRM newbie, but some community support would be nice. Thanks.

These are in reality just warnings, not errors. Does everything work as expected?

Thanks Hershel. That's quite a learning curve--a lot of configs. For the record (and anyone who might find it useful)... It seems that I had a combination of server (not-CivCRM) issues: Cron only works with the URL method; SMTP only works with port 25 (as per CiviCRM docs, not my ISP [1&1.ca] docs =587); progressive jpgs were causing an Error 500, Line limit exceeded; I could only import 100 records at a time as csv = 85 uploads; lastly, I had to set cron to 10 mins, choke CiviMail to 55msgs with 10sec delay. Bottom line = 27 hrs/mailing.

But it is chugging away, I'll check the report tomorrow at noon. I'm going for a walk.
