Store token values with emails and pdf letters
January 12, 2015, 07:26:07 am
When creating pdf letters and emails using tokens, the stored email only contains the token name, instead of being populated with the token's value at runtime.

I don't know if this is intended (it might have been easier to develop this way?). However, in several use cases this causes difficulties - especially when you want to get documented, what was the actual content of the mail you sent out.

E.g., I would like to see:
Quote
Dear Thomas in Berlin

Instead, CiviCRM shows:
Quote
{contact.email_greeting} in {contact.city}

Maybe I am doing something wrong, and there is an easy way to change CiviCRM's behaviour?

Is there any way to make CiviCRM populate the stored version of the email (resp. the pdf letter) with the token's value at the time the mail is sent out?

Cheers, Detlev
